May Day Parade
GOLDEN CAKE FOR GOLDEN ANNIVERSARY May Day Parade 2017
What started out as a trailer-on- loan and some donated lumber turned into an awesome parade float!
The BC Farm Museum is celebrating their 50th anniversary this year 2017. One way of celebrating this milestone was to create a parade float. The float participated in the Fort Langley May Day Parade, attended the Langley City Community Day in Douglas Park, showed up for the Fort Langley Canada Day Celebration and the Aldergrove Fair as well as other local appearances. Thank You to Aldor Acres, Country Lumber, and Windsor Plywood!
The horse and buggy “cake top” are from the museum’s pioneer life collection on display at 9131 King Street, Fort Langley.
The Farm Museum joins in all the fun every year at the May Day Parade in Fort Langley
VanderKooi Friesians pull a 1902 Victoria carriage through Fort Langley at Monday’s May Day Parade. The carriage is from the collection on exhibit at the BC Farm Museum and was carrying Bill and Bernice Stacey. The Stacey’s are long time Farm Museum volunteers. They could easily have been mistaken for genuine turn of the century dignitaries.
